Forsythe + MacAllen

Usually for original and inventive design we look to europe or umm...to europe. But why, when so much talent is right here in Canada. Forsythe + MacAllen is one of the amazing Canadian-based design companies based right here in Vancouver. One of their cooler works is their water lamp (http://www.forsythe-macallen.com/Waterlamp.htm)



It's a reading light - diffuse light shed by a candle is refracted through water-filled glass globes, focusing a concentrated beam of light to read by with an overall softness of light in the room. This is modeled after a medieval European technique for task lighting.
